Nicola has been writing since she was five years old and is now an award-winning journalist and best-selling author.
When she was in primary school, she recalls writing a poem about a Seal named Simon and his fear that he was going to be eaten by a shark as well as his transcendental questioning on whether he was actually real. The teacher didn’t think I wrote it myself, but her mum informed them only a child as “special” as her could come up with such creative imaginings.
Decades later, writing is still the number one vehicle she uses to try to make sense of this odd world that we all live in. From that moment to this, it has almost been the only constant in her life and it’s certainly the only thing that she thinks she truly understands.
In 2012, Nicola created OMV, as a place where she could let her creative writing run free. Over the past decade, she has written more than 100 blogs on topics that have absolutely nothing to do with her professional life.
